  Zachary Mayfield,
State Reporter

Zachary Mayfield is from Alexandria, Louisiana. He is a 2019 graduate of Pearl River High School where he was a heavily involved in his studies and extracurricular activities. He served as the president of Beta Club and National Honor Society as well as Co-Captain of the golf team for three years. He was also an active member in the International Thespian Society, Student Council, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and a one-year letterman for the varsity football team. Zachary was also very involved in the Pearl River and Creekside FFA Chapters, most notably serving as Chapter FFA President for the last three years. He competed in many LDEs such as Prepared Public Speaking where he placed third in the state and Creed Speaking where he was the state champion. He also competed in Horse Evaluation, Gulf of Mexico Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Parliamentary Procedure, Meat Identification, Floriculture, and Nursery/Landscape. Zachary also has served the Louisiana FFA Association as Area IV Federation Junior Vice President and Vice President and most recently, State Sentinel. Zachary is currently a freshman attending Louisiana State University where he is working to obtain his agricultural education and extension degree, and he hopes to become a second generation agriscience teacher! Zachary Mayfield is proud to serve as our 2019-2020 State FFA Reporter!
